The activities of the Department of Agricultural Economics & Rural Development are educational and research aiming to contribute to the development of the agri-food sector of Greece.

In particular, the research activity is based on the Research Strategy drawn up by the Department for the period 2020 – 2025.

In this context, the research of the faculty members of our Department covers various issues that generally concern consumer behavior, the productivity of the agricultural sector as a whole and specific sectors, agricultural policy and rural development.

The research projects are funded by private and public bodies (eg GSRT) and the European Union.
